Myra had a regular column and featured composition in Junior Keynotes national magazine when I served as editor. It was a pleasure to work with her. She even dedicated a piece to me! I have missed our interaction and am sorry to hear of her passing. Sending prayers of comfort to her family and friends.

Myra Turner taught piano to my daughter Erin during her high school years. She was a loving mentor and friend. Erin cried when she heard about Myra's passing. A wonderful woman in every way.

Teri, I marveled in reading all that your Mom had accomplished in music during her lifetime. She was truly an icon and obviously left quite a legacy. We're left to wonder why it was not possible for her to go on living forever. On a lighter note, I still have the pizza casserole recipe she wrote out for me because Kay loved it so much. Maybe I should make it again soon just to reminisce. I know of your almost unbearable sadness, but perhaps memories of happier times will ease your pain in time.
Love you sweet friend ....

I am so sorry for your loss. Myra was a true friend and mentor to me. I loved our many conversations we shared and hearing her perform at the piano. She truly was a special lady. I am so sorry I am out of town and won't be able to attend her service. I know how much her compositions meant to her so if you would like her files preserved I would like to help with that. Prayers for your family.

I am so blessed to have been one of Mrs. Turner's students. She taught me to be a musician rather than just a pianist. She inspired me to play with expression and to interpret the beauty of the music rather than just playing the notes. I was blessed to have known her. My heartfelt sympathy goes out to her family. She was a great lady.
