Norma Jean Asbury

Jacksboro, TN

Norma Jean Asbury, age 92, of Jacksboro passed away peacefully on August 26, 2018. Born on January 13, 1926, she was the oldest of six children and daughter to the late Raymond and Lucille Asbury. She was a member of Caryville United Methodist Church and retired from Oak Ridge National Laboratories K-25. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by brothers Ralph Asbury, Maurice Asbury, Walter Asbury, Homer (Hutch) Asbury, and Harold Asbury.

She will be lovingly missed by her sister-in-laws Jane Dora Asbury, Mildred Asbury, and Janice Asbury.

Nieces and nephews Cindy Hutson (Jim) of Knoxville; Dean Asbury of

Jacksboro; Edward (Ted) Asbury (Bridgett, M.D.) of Tifton, GA; Jennifer Hicks (Jason) of Knoxville; Susan Asbury-Newsome (Brian) of Elizabethtown, PA; Kara Asbury M.D. of Scottsdale, AZ; and Dr. Mary Beth Asbury of Murfreesboro.

Great nieces and nephews Erin and Andrew (Andy) Asbury; Janie, Catie, and Caroline Hicks; and Braden and Barrett Newsome.

She will also be missed by a host of cousins, neighbors, and friends.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, August 28 from 5:00 p.m.-7:00 p.m. with a funeral following at 7:00 p.m. at Cross-Smith Funeral Home.

Rev. Perry Duncan is officiating.

Her burial will take place at Woodlawn Cemetery on Wednesday, August 29 at 10:00 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Caryville United Methodist Church, P.O. Box

125, Caryville, Tennessee.
