Novella (Toni) Kerr, age 88, passed away on Monday November 7, 2016. She was born on April 22, 1928, in Fall Branch, Tennessee. Novella worked for Blue Circle restaurant in Fountain City for many years and retired from Standard Knitting Mills at the age of 63.
Preceded in death by husband, Raymond E. Kerr; son, George Anthony Major; sisters, Margaret Miller, Pat Nicely; brother, Gene Tucker; and parents, Harden Tucker and Elizabeth Crawford. Survived by children, Paula Wright, of Knoxville, TN, Sam Major (Phyllis) of Knoxville, TN, and Mark Kerr (Lou) of Shreveport, LA; grandchildren, Christie Clark and Kayla Sparks; great-grandchildren, Chelsea Dee, Samantha and Shawn Wright; sisters, Mary Edna Chaplin, of Cleveland, OH, and Thelma Light of Fall Branch, TN; brothers, Vestal Tucker of Fall Branch, TN, Malcom Crawford, and Buddy Crawford. A special thank you to the fourth floor staff at Shannondale Nursing Home, especially Janice, Eric, Adam, and Sandi.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Thursday, November 10, 2016, at Rose Mortuary Broadway Chapel. A funeral service will follow at 7:00 p.m. with Chaplain Renee Willingham. Interment will be private in Greenwood Cemetery.
