Peter F. Zalewski

Peter F. Zalewski 1911 - 2006 WEST WARREN - Peter F. Zalewski, 95, of 2294 Main St., died Tuesday, March 7, 2006 at Wing Memorial Hospital, Palmer. He was born in West Warren, son of the late Wladyslaw and Mary (Wos) Zalewski, and lived here all of his life. He was a tool maker at the Wm. E. Wright Co. in West Warren, where he worked for 40 years before retiring in 1976. He was a member of the West Warren Senior Center, the Knights of Columbus in West Warren, and was a former Scoutmaster for the Boy Scouts. He was a communicant and choir member of St. Stanislaus Bishop & Martyr Church in West Warren. Peter was an artist for many years, and has had exhibitions of his many beautiful oil paintings. He is survived by four sisters, Stefanie Landroche of Jaffrey, NH, Helen Dunbar of Ware, Sophie Bilek of West Brookfield, and Anna Jordan and her husband Edward of Holyoke. He also leaves his daughter-in-law, Crystal Torrell of Palmer; several nieces and nephews; and a close family friend, Gabrielle Nutter of West Warren. His beloved wife, Sophie (Trzepacz) Zalewski, predeceased him in 2002; and his beloved son, David P. Zalewski, died in 1971. He was also predeceased by 3 brothers and one sister. Peter's funeral services will be held March 11, 2006. His family and friends will gather Saturday at 10 a.m. in St. Stanislaus Bishop & Martyr Church, Main St., West Warren for a Liturgy of Christian Burial. Burial will be in St. Paul's Cemetery in the spring. Calling hours are Friday, March 10, 2006 from 4-6 p.m. at the Cebula Funeral Home, Ware.
