R. Kent Anderson Obituary

Russell "Kent" Anderson, age 79, passed away on August 17, 2016. Kent was a U.S. Army Veteran and retired from Norfolk Southern Railroad. He was a faithful member of Fountain City United Methodist Church and he enjoyed singing in the choir there. He also was a master of "tinkering" and could be found disassembling and reassembling nearly anything.
Kent was preceded in death by his cherished wife, Martha L. Anderson. He is survived and will be deeply missed by his children, Russ Anderson and wife Tina, Marty Lowe and husband Scott, Mark McMillan and wife Laura, Christine Ellison; grandchildren, Matt, Rebekah, Chaney, Camden, Brandon, Michael, Timothy, Elizabeth, Emily, Catheryn, Heather; several great-grandchildren; brother, Jack Watson and wife Regina; nephew, Steve; nieces, Jan and Julia; and other extended family and friends. The family wishes to thank the staff of Heritage Assisted Living for their care and compassion.
The family will receive friends at Gentry Griffey Funeral Chapel on Tuesday, August 23rd from 5:00-5:45 p.m., with a celebration of life to follow at 6:00 p.m. An interment with Military Honors will be held at East Tennessee Veterans Cemetery on Wednesday, August 24th at 9:30 a.m. Gentry Griffey Funeral Chapel is honored to serve the family and invites you to view and sign their online guestbook at gentrygriffey.com.
