Roger Steven Dotson, age 68 of Seymour, TN passed away peacefully on Monday, October 16, 2017 surrounded by his family and friends. Roger honorably served in the U.S. Army and received several awards and decorations including: The National Defense Service Medal, Sharpshooter (Rifle M-14), and The Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal (Korea). He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather whose favorite pastime was watching the grandkids play ball. Roger was a member of Life Changers International Church in Pigeon Forge, TN. He was preceded in death by his wife, Brenda K. Dotson; parents, Ronnie T. Dotson and Thelma Juanita Edens Dotson; and grandson, Bailey Burchfield. Survivors include: son, Roger Steven Dotson, Jr. and wife Holly; daughter, Amy Breeden and husband Travis; grandchildren, Cole Dotson, Tatum Dotson, Aidan Breeden, and Kinsley Breeden; brothers, Ronnie L. Dotson and wife Debra, and Larry Dotson; sisters, Judy Smith and husband Donald, Vicki Dotson-Archer and husband David; mother-in-law, Wilma Davis; sisters-in-law, Glenda Harrison and husband Jerry, and Cathy Hitch; brothers-in-law, Tom Davis, Donnie Davis and wife Terri; nieces and nephews, Joey Smith and wife Tanya, Angela Archer, Dustin Dotson, Jeremy Harrison and wife Danielle, David and Derek Copeland; great-nephews, Zac Harrison and Zane Smith; and special friends and neighbors, Charlene and Bill Case. The family will receive friends 5-7 PM Thursday with a funeral service to follow at 7 PM in Atchley's Seymour Chapel with Rev. Ronnie L. Dotson officiating. Family and friends will meet 11 AM Friday for a graveside service and interment in Atchley's Seymour Memory Gardens. Military honors to be provided by The American Legion Post No. 104.
