Russell "Russ" Kinsey, age 56, of Knoxville, TN died on Friday, January 12, 2018. He is survived by his father, Jim Kinsey, his step-mother, Marjorie Reed Kinsey, his brother, David Kinsey (Blythe) and their children Brooke, Grant and Kendall Kinsey. Russ was predeceased by his mother Joyce Miller Kinsey, an infant brother, Dale Allen Kinsey, and his grandparents, Roy and Thelma Wine Kinsey and Henry and Alice Martin Miller. Russ played football in a pre-teen league and was chosen for the all-star team who played an all-star team from Pennsylvania during the Christmas break, and his opponent was a guest at our home. He graduated from Tullahoma, TN High School where he was active on the track and cross country teams. He then attended the University of Tennessee and graduated with a Bachelors in Electrical Engineering degree. During his school years (and after), he was an active back packer and also explored the mountains riding dirt bikes. Dirt bikes gave way to street motorcycles that he continued to ride throughout his life. At church, he sang bass in a men's quartet. For 20 years and at the time of his death, he was employed by Draeger, Inc., a German company specializing in gas detection products. Russ was sales manager for the Southeastern U.S. and the Caribbean. His complete understanding of the products, his energy, and the ability to close the deal resulted in a very successful career. Russ will be missed by his family and all of his friends in the U.S. and Germany. Family will receive friends at ROSE MORTUARY BROADWAY CHAPEL (1421 Broadway NE, Knoxville TN 37917) from 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm on Saturday, January 20, 2018 with service to follow with Rev.
