My deepest sympathies. I was shocked and saddened by the news. I've worked with Tom for many years and really enjoyed talking with him about some of his local trout fishing trips. He will be missed. Praying for friends and family during this difficult time.

Kathy and family, I am so sorry and shocked. I worked with Tom on the Redstone project while at Shaw and again as an independent consultant. He was always thinking in new and innovative ways to try to figure out the groundwater mystery that Redstone presented. He always seemed to have a smile on his face, even when things weren't exactly going his way. I considered him a good friend and mentor. He will be sorely missed!

Like many who knew Tom, I am in a state of shock and disbelief that Tom has passed away. I worked with Tom at IT/Shaw/CB&I, and I always looked forward to seeing him in the hallway or break room and talking with him about a myriad of subjects. I always came away from our discussions amused at his humor, impressed with his passion and knowledge, and grateful... for I always learned something new. On the Thursday before he passed, we were discussing an interesting insect he had found (and photographed) at his house, and shared a chuckle over its fearsome appearance. We never did figure out what it was, but that was Tom... always intellectually curious and building camaraderie through his good natured pursuits in life. I always liked and looked up to Tom, and I will miss him terribly. I feel very lucky to have known him. He left us all too soon. I'm so incredibly sorry for your loss.

We are deeply saddened by the news of Tom's passing. My husband and I both worked with Tom for many years at IT/Shaw E&I.
I had the pleasure to work on a field project of Tom's and got to know him and his geological ingenuity very well fond memories.
All of us who worked with Tom learned a great deal from his technical expertise - his passion and excitement were contagious! Our thoughts and continued prayers are with the Zondlo family.

Tom was a good friend, a great geologist, and had a passion for what he did for others. I will miss his passion and professionalism for his work he did at Redstone Arsenal. He was witty and always had a good sense of humor. His work at Redstone will be everlasting in what he has discovered in the complex geology and how to interpret its geologic past.
Tom, we will all miss you and will never forget you. I hope you find your place in the cosmos discovering new worlds with your new rock hammer. You are a geologist's geologist.
I wish my best to Tom's family and friends. You all are in our prayers.
