William Howard Armstrong

ARMSTRONG, WILLIAM HOWARD (W. H.) - age 83 of Knoxville, passed away Monday, February 20, 2006 at North Haven Health Care Center. He was a 1942 graduate of Austin High School. Member of Cherry Street Church of God, where he sang in the choirs, was a trustee, and a great Sunday School Scholar. Preceded in death by: his parents, Mr. & Mrs. Sylvester (Cora) Armstrong; former wife, Alease S. Armstrong; and three brothers. Survivors: son, Ricardo H. Armstrong; daughter, Aquilla L. Hopkins of Detroit, Michigan; step-son, Cortez Burks; five grandchildren; two great grandchildren; sister, Ollie Lundy; brother John Armstrong, Knoxville; sister-in-law, Ann Armstrong, Ohio; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. Mr. Armstrong may be viewed after 10:00 a.m. Friday, at Jarnigan's Chapel. Family will receive friends 2:00-2:30 p.m. Saturday at Cherry Street Church of God, funeral service 2:30 p.m., Elder Marvin B. Rhodes officiating; Bishop William K. Lane, Eulogist.
