William Armstrong Obituary

ARMSTRONG, WILLIAM HOWARD (W. H.) - age 83 of Knoxville, passed away Monday, February 20, 2006 at North Haven Health Care Center. He was a 1942 graduate of Austin High School. Member of Cherry Street Church of God, where he sang in the choirs, was a trustee, and a great Sunday School Scholar. Preceded in death by: his parents, Mr. & Mrs. Sylvester (Cora) Armstrong; former wife, Alease S. Armstrong; and three brothers. Survivors: son, Ricardo H. Armstrong; daughter, Aquilla L. Hopkins of Detroit, Michigan; step-son, Cortez Burks; five grandchildren; two great grandchildren; sister, Ollie Lundy; brother John Armstrong, Knoxville; sister-in-law, Ann Armstrong, Ohio; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. Mr. Armstrong may be viewed after 10:00 a.m. Friday, at Jarnigan's Chapel. Family will receive friends 2:00-2:30 p.m. Saturday at Cherry Street Church of God, funeral service 2:30 p.m., Elder Marvin B. Rhodes officiating; Bishop William K. Lane, Eulogist. Interment High Top Cemetery. Arrangements by Jarnigan & Son Mortuary.

I THANK GOD FOR HAVING KNOWN TRUSTEE ARMSTORNG. HE TRULLY WAS A MAN OF GOD AND A MAN WHO BELIEVED IN PRAYER. HE WAS ALWAYS THERE TO DO WHAT HE COULD FOR THE CHURCH AND THE SAINTS. TO THE FAMILY MAY THE PEACE OF GOD WHICH PASSES MANS UNDERSTANDING BE WITH YOU DURING THIS TIME OF MOURNING AND REFLECTION, MY WIFE AND I ARE PRAYING FOR YOU.
