ANGOLA - Dale A. Champion, 79, of Angola, Indiana, passed away on Sunday, April 18, 2021 at Parkview Hospital, Fort Wayne, Indiana. He was born on September 29, 1941 in Steuben County, Indiana to John and Margery (Wells) Champion. Dale graduated from Fremont High School.

He married Diane R. Oberlin on May 9, 1972.

Dale was a mechanic and owned Jerry's Marathon Gas Station in Angola, Indiana. He also was an auctioneer. Dale served his country in the United States Army. He was a member of the Angola Christian Church, Orland American Legion Post 423 and the N.R.A.

Dale enjoyed fishing, hunting, and gardening. Most of all he loved spending time with his family and watching his grandchildren's sporting events.

Surviving is his wife, Diane R. Champion, of Angola, Indiana; son, Jon (Amanda) Champion, of Grabill, Indiana; daughter, Leann (Chris) Jordan, of Fremont, Indiana; five grandchildren, Patrick Champion, Audrey Champion, Brody Jordan, Kendall Jordan and Logan Jordan. Also surviving are his brother, Thomas (Connie) Champion of Fremont, Indiana and sisters-in-law, Jeanette Champion and Mickie Champion both of Fremont, Indiana.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Dick Champion and Lynn Champion and sister, Anna Walters.

Following Dale's wishes there will be no services.

Memorial donations may be made in Dale's memory to the Woodburn Christian Children's Home, PO Box 459, Woodburn, IN 46797.

We are so sorry to read of Dale's passing. Great memories of him picking his kids up as Rhonda watched Jon and Leann when they were young. God Bless and blessings to Diane and family.
