GRAND PRAIRIE, Texas - Dan Strong, age 70, passed away on Friday, Nov. 14, 2025, at Mansfield Texas Medical Lodge.
Dan was born in Rock Island, Illinois, on Nov. 27, 1954, son of the late William and Joan M. Strong.
Dan was a graduate of Moline High School and later graduated from Blackhawk College in Moline.
Dan worked at John Deere Harvester, and later as a Food Services Consultant for Frito Lay and Ben and Jerry's.
Dan was a former president of the Chamber of Commerce in Burleson, Texas, as well as a past member of the Burleson City Council.
Dan-O was a kind and genuine man, who took great pride in serving others. During his time on the City Council, he was known for his dedication to the community and his friendly rapport with residents and city staff alike. Dan enjoyed contributing his time and energy to make Burleson a better place for all.
He leaves behind his companion, Melinda Reed; his daughter, Sarah (Victor Ramirez); his beloved grandchildren, Mateo and Victoria; his sister, Cathy (Jim) Reick; nieces, Beth (Hawkeye Wayne) and Brooke (Ryan) Seker; nephews, Byron (Emily) Hefty and Derek (Sydnee) Hefty; his great-nieces, Emma, Raegan and Emma; and great-nephews, Scout and Nathan.
Dan was preceded in death by his sister, Kelly Ann Strong; and infant brother, Marc W. Strong.
Final wishes are entrusted to Grand Prairie Funeral Home, Grand Prairie, Texas.
As Dan loved Indiana, and the Rome City area, a gathering in Dan's memory will take place at Sylvan Lake at a later date.
Memorials may be directed to the American Heart Association.
