BUTLER - Deanna Lou Shull, 85, passed away on Wednesday, July 17, 2024, at her home in rural Butler, Indiana.
She was born on Feb. 4, 1939, in Moore, Indiana, to Ivan Lavon and Helen (Hart) Rosenberry.
She was a 1957 graduate of Butler High School.
Deanna married Edwin M. Shull on Dec. 20, 1958, at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church in rural Waterloo.
She worked for Bohn Aluminum in Butler for several years, GE in Fort Wayne for seven years, the American Red Cross and was secretary for Shull Machine Service.
She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Auburn and was also a member of the Rosary Society through the church.
Deanna was true to her faith, and it was evident by opening her home and heart to foster several children along with making crosses for the Cross Ministry. She also enjoyed crocheting, following local high school sports, and college basketball and football. She would often be called the candy lady at the ball diamonds.
Deanna was a loving wife, mother and grandmother.
Surviving are her husband, Edwin Shull, of Butler; two sons and their spouses, Brent L. and Tami Shull, of Angola and Bradd L. and Wendy Shull, of Butler; six grandchildren, Jacob and Abby Shull, Zach and Sarah Shull, Meghan Shull, Brady Shull, Camden Miller and Addisyn Shull; four bonus grandchildren, Karlene Gillen, Bo Kurtz, Samuel Kurtz and Quinn Kurtz; eight great-grandchildren; 10 bonus great-grandchildren; sister, Barbara Haycox, of Texas; and four sisters-in-law, Shirley (Juan) Gomez, Aileen Alles, Deanna (Roger) Reed and Karen (Rich Atwell) Barnett.
She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Brenda Lou Shull; two sisters, Sondra Caldwell and Pat Ackerman; and two sisters-in-law, Beverly Anton and Gloria Lancaster.
A Mass of Christian burial will take place at 10 a.m., on Tuesday, July 23, 2024, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 500 E. 7th St., Auburn, with visitation from 9-10 a.m., prior to the service at the church.
Father Drew Curry will be officiating.
Burial will take place at Immaculate Conception Catholic Cemetery in Auburn.
Visitation also will be from 3-7 p.m., on Monday, July 22, 2024, at Feller and Clark Funeral Home, 1860 Center St., Auburn, with the rosary being recited at 7 p.m., on Monday, after visitation.
Memorials may be directed to Immaculate Conception Catholic Cemetery.
