ST JOE - Harold G. Curie, 95, died on Friday, Feb. 23, 2024, at Parkview Huntington Hospital.
He was born on Jan. 16, 1929, in Concord Township, St. Joe, Indiana, on the family farm, son of the late Charles and Mildred (Gee) Curie Jarrett.
He married Emily Marie Shull on Feb. 19, 1954, at Coburn Corners Church of Christ, St. Joe, Indiana, and she preceded him in death on Oct. 30, 2008.
Surviving are a son, Charles (Candace) Curie, of Fort Wayne, Indiana; daughter, Leota (Philip) Bauman, of South Bend, Indiana, grandchildren, Daniel (Pam) Rardin, of Greenville, Wisconsin, and Tina (Jimmy) Wingett, of Fishers, Indiana; step-grandson, Matthew Bauman, of Lisle, Illinois; brother, Robert (Cynthia) Jarrett, of St. Joe, Indiana; sisters, Joan (Robert) Evans, of Hicksville, Ohio, and Janet Jackson, of Warren, Indiana; and sister-in-law, Mary Jane Curie, of Grove City, Ohio.
He was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Holly Rardin; a brother, Carlton C. Curie; and a brother-in-law, Paul Jackson.
Harold was a farmer, woodworker, worked 32 years as a Petroleum Truck Driver for DeKalb County Farm Bureau Co-op and was a Trustee of Alton Cemetery for 48 years.
He was a Korean War veteran, a member and elder of Coburn Corners Church of Christ, St. Joe Class of 1946, VFW Life Member Post #15015, Disabled American Veterans Chapter 43, DeKalb County Farm Bureau Co-op and a past president of the St. Joe Lions Club.
Calling will be held on Tuesday, Feb. 27, 2024, from 4-7 p.m., at Coburn Corners Church of Christ, 6813 C.R. 64 St. Joe, Indiana.
Services will be held on Wednesday, Feb. 28, 2024, at 11 a.m., with calling one hour prior at the church.
Pastor Larry Carter will officiate.
Burial will be at Alton Cemetery, St. Joe, Indiana.
Memorials may be given to the Alton Cemetery Endowment Fund % Coburn Corners Church at 6813 C.R. 64 St. Joe, IN 46785.
