CHESAPEAKE, Va. — Jason Joseph Bowman, 45, passed away on Friday, November 24, 2017. Jason was a son, a husband, a father, a soldier, and a true friend to all who knew him. He had a heart of gold and a smile that could warm a room.
He was born in Inglewood, California, on November 26, 1971 to Joseph and Sandra Bowman who reside in Hamilton, Indiana. He grew up in Butler, Indiana. Jason honorably served in the Army for 17 proud years. Everyone who knew him could attest to his unwavering patriotism and love for our country.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife, Tracy Bowman; two daughters, Taryn and Kenna Bowman of Chesapeake, Virginia; two sons, Adam (Danielle) Bowman of Defiance, Ohio, and Nicholas Bowman of Chesapeake, Virginia; a sister, Casey (Tony) Stafford of Waterloo, Indiana; granddaughters Cailey and Natalie Bowman of Sellersburg, Indiana; nephew Curtis Russell of Auburn, Indiana; niece Kristin Russell of Bloomington, Indiana; great-nephew Liam Russell of Auburn, Indiana; grandmother Ruth Bowman of Butler, Indiana; and a host of extended family and friends.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, December 2, 2017 in Sturtevant Funeral Home, Portsmouth Blvd. Chapel, Portsmouth, Virginia. Burial services will take place Saturday, December 9, at 11 a.m. at the Butler Cemetery, 7273 C.R. 28, Butler, Indiana.
