GARRETT - Kenneth E. "Kenny" Nelson, 76, passed away on Thursday, Oct. 30, 2025, at his home in Garrett, Indiana.
He was born Aug. 24, 1949, in Garrett, Indiana, to Harold "Gene" and Virginia (Blevins) Nelson.
Kenny was a veteran of the United States Army.
He was a member of American Legion Post 178 of Garrett and Garrett Eagles #1357.
Surviving are his mother, Virginia Nelson, of Garrett; his wife, Susie (Smith); sister, Kathy Mallard, of Maine; sister-in-law, Cherrie Nelson, of Auburn; aunt, Karen Davis; uncle, Keith (Lisa) Blevins; and nieces and nephews, Dustie (Tim) Wallace, Rodney Mallard, Steve (Jamie) Nelson Jr., Jenny Nelson, Ryan (Sarah) Nelson and Stephanie (Andy) Rice.
He was preceded in death by his father, Harold "Gene" Nelson; three brothers, Ed Nelson, Steve Nelson and William "Bill" Nelson; and a brother-in-law, Bill Mallard.
A graveside service will take place at 4 p.m., on Wednesday, Nov. 12, 2025, at Woodlawn Cemetery, 1605 Center St., Auburn, with military honors being conducted by the United States Army and American Legion Post 178 of Garrett and American Legion Post 97 of Auburn.
Memorial donations may be directed to the American Legion Post 178, 515 W. 5th Ave., Garrett, IN 46738.
