Marilyn Carr
AUBURN - Marilyn J. Carr, 89, passed away on Wednesday, June 26, 2024, at her home in Auburn, Indiana.
She was born on July 16, 1934, in Auburn, Indiana, to Austin E. and Dorothy M. (Clemmer) Kail.
Marilyn married Harold R. Carr on Sept. 9, 1956, in Auburn, and he passed away on June 3, 2009.
She worked several years as an LPN for Sacred Heart Hospital in Garrett and then for Glen Oaks Nursing Home in Auburn. She then went to work for the Rieke Corp in Auburn, retiring in 1996.
Marilyn was a member of First United Methodist Church in Auburn.
She also was a member of the 912 Club, Garrett Eagles, Auburn Moose and DeKalb County Historical Society. She also enjoyed spending time at the DeKalb County History Museum in Butler.
Marilyn enjoyed going to auctions, bowling, writing letters to the editor and being part of the Fort Wayne Daisies.
Surviving are six children and their spouses, Jim and Andi Carr, Alicia and Kerry Oster, Susan Carr, Jennifer and Timothy Baker, Nancy and Tom Sturges and Richard and Bre Carr; 29 grandchildren, Jamie (Mike) Kleinhenz, Aaron (Jenny) Carr, Carrie (Dave) Carman, Andrea (Jeff) Mills, Curtis (Maddie) Carr, Brandi (Chad) Baughman, Nichole (David) Park, Ryan (Jama) Wallace, Corey (Jess) Wallace, Chanda Wallace, Angela Dale, Lindsay (Josh) La Rowe, Derek Baker, Tyson Walter, Cameron (Alisha) Walter, Nathan (Mariah) Sturges, Nicholas (Randy) Sturges, Macy (Keith) Sturges, Tara (Cody) Carr, Tiffany (Josh) Ball, Austin (Kristina) Carr, Avery Johnson, Addison Johnson, Shannon (Josh) Hough, Jeremy (Robin) Glick, Melissa (Trent) Feichter, Rebecca Glugg, Kris King and Kyle King; 75 great-grandchildren; and 11 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Ann Koskie, in 2015; and two brothers, Walter Kail and William Kail.
Services will be held at 2 p.m., on Monday, July 1, 2024, at Feller and Clark Funeral Home, 1860 Center St., Auburn, with the Rev. Robert Barton officiating.
Burial will take place at Woodlawn Cemetery in Auburn.
Visitation will be from noon to 2 p.m., on Monday, July 1, 2024, prior to the service at the funeral home.
