Michael Sowle Obituary

AUBURN — Michael L. Sowle, 63, of Auburn, passed away suddenly Tuesday, May 16, 2017 due to complications with Type 1 Diabetes.
He was born on January 30, 1954 in Angola, IN, the son of David D. and Roberta B. (Cope) Sowle. He graduated from DeKalb High School in 1972 and earned his Associates Degree in Biology from Tri-State University.
Mr. Sowle worked as an EMT and as the director of housekeeping at DeKalb Memorial Hospital in Auburn.
He enjoyed working on family genealogy, gardening and spending time with his beloved daughters. He had extensively researched his family history and was a member of the Sowle Kindred in America Society, the Mayflower Society and the Indiana Genealogy Society. He also enjoyed volunteering with the DeKalb Outdoor Theater.
Surviving are: his daughters, Andrea Sowle Kern (Jacob) of Auburn, and Allison M. Sowle of Fort Wayne; and his sisters, Carol A. Sowle of Indianapolis, and Phyllis J. Wade of Auburn.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Douglas.
A memorial gathering to celebrate his life will be held on Thursday, May 25, 2017, from 4 to 8 p.m. at Quiet Knight, 1721 S. Wayne St., Auburn, IN. Internment will be in Circle Hill Cemetery, Angola.
Memorials are to the DeKalb Outdoor Theater, P.O. Box 452, Auburn, IN.
