WABASH - Moses Griffey, 79, of Wabash, Indiana, formerly of Ligonier, Indiana, died at 7:36 a.m., on Friday, Aug. 29, 2025, at Parkview Huntington Hospital.
He was born on Dec. 1, 1945, in Prestonsburg, Kentucky, to Ali and Dulcie (Roop) Griffey Smith.
Moses worked and retired from Wabash Alloys after 43 years.
He first married Elizabeth Endicott on Dec. 24, 1965. She died on Sept. 14, 1988.
Moses then married Minnie (Yates) Wicker in September 1989. She died on May 5, 2009.
He then wed Leah (Hicks) Hagerman on Oct. 30, 2010. She died on Jan. 9, 2021.
Moses was a member of Old Regular Little Flock Baptist Church in Paynesville, West Virginia. He was an ordained Old Regular Baptist preacher and enjoyed sharing the gospel.
He enjoyed fishing, hunting, woodworking and being outdoors. Moses also loved singing, gardening, canning, but family was most important to him.
He is survived by two children, Pamela (Timothy) Nance, of Laketon, Indiana, and James (Tammy) Griffey, of North Manchester, Indiana; five grandchildren, Timothy A. Nance, of Akron, Indiana, Thomas Nance, of Laketon, Angelia (Cory Smith) Nance, Josh (Alicia) Griffey, and Candace (Greg) Stephens, all of North Manchester; five great-grandchildren, Brycen Nance, Cady Nance, Liam Nance, Gracelyn Hartman and Karmon Stephens; four stepsons; five stepdaughters; and several step-grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by his parents; eight brothers; six sisters; and three stepsons.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., on Wednesday, Sept. 3, 2025, at Grandstaff-Hentgen Funeral Service, 1241 Manchester Ave., Wabash.
Burial will be at Laketon Cemetery, Laketon.
Friends may call from 3-7 p.m., on Tuesday, Sept. 2, 2025, with a small vigil following at the funeral home.
Preferred memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or American Heart Association.
