There are so many amazing memories with my dad. I remember him taking us across diamond lake in the row boat. We called it turtle hunting. We would scoop up the turtle in a net and bring it back to our side of the lake. Occasionally he would let us take one home to keep as a pet. His most recent turtle mishap was when he pulled one off of the side of the road. He came back to the house and informed us that the turtle was lost behind the console and dashboard. Later that day my nephew had to rescue the turtle and release him. He shared his love of animals with the grandkids as well. He recently bought them a pony, a couple pigmy goats, a couple turkeys, rabbits and multiple chickens. He has enjoyed watching them show rabbits in 4H. And it warms our hearts to see the pride in his face when watching the grandkids at their sporting events and other activities. After each game you can hear him asking them if they had fun and if they played their best. And occasionally he would offer a bit of advice. We will all miss having him here but will cherish the memories that we have with him. ♥

Bob was such a wonderful co-worker and friend. We sponsored Spirit Club together back in the late 90s at NPJHS. The students wanted to have an "old school" Fun Fair. So, Bob and I made it happen. On the day of the Fun Fair, Bob drove to Walmart to pick up the goldfish for the goldfish game. Later that day, I ran to the office to see all of the fish, but I could not find them anywhere. When I asked Bob where the goldfish were, he responded - with a very straight face- I put them in the toilets in the boys' bathroom. The look on my face made Bob laugh hard. He was so tickled. Bob and I also worked the ticket table at the middle school basketball games. It was at those games where he would talk about his wife and girls. He loved all of you so very much. Bob was a loyal friend and employee. (No one, and I mean no one, would do what he did all those years, driving from Fort Wayne to New Carlisle each day.) He was an incredibly hard worker, and to this day, we say, "They broke the mold with Bob." He was the best! Keeping all of you in my prayers during this sad and difficult time.
