LAGRANGE - Slade K. Dunafin, 27, of LaGrange, Indiana, passed away peacefully in his sleep on Saturday, Nov. 8, 2025, at his home.
He was born on Dec. 2, 1997, in Fort Wayne, Indiana, to Kurtis L. Dunafin and Shawn (Hollar) Haynes.
A lifelong resident of LaGrange County, Slade graduated from Prairie Heights High School with the Class of 2016.
After high school, he worked in several positions before founding Pretty Valley Drone Service, a company specializing in aerial photography for real estate listings, commercial roof inspections, and project development.
Slade had a passion for classic trucks and cars, and he especially enjoyed restoring them - his favorite project being a 1978 Ford F100. He loved watching sports and was an avid Indianapolis Colts fan.
Slade's greatest joy came from spending time with his family and friends. He adored his nieces and nephew and cherished his role as their uncle.
Surviving are his father, Kurtis L. Dunafin, of LaGrange, Indiana; mother, Shawn (Tyler) Haynes, of Helmer, Indiana; paternal grandparents, Jerry and Emily Dunafin, of LaGrange, Indiana; maternal grandmother, Esther Hollar, of Kendallville, Indiana; brother, Seth (Christine) Dunafin, of Portland, Texas; sister, Saige (Kevin) Williams, of LaGrange, Indiana; uncles and aunts, Rodney and Kathy Dunafin and Lori and Brad McGraw, all of LaGrange, Indiana; three nieces, Alanah Dunafin, Willow Williams and Scotlynn Williams; a nephew, Jackson Dunafin; and many loving cousins; especially his best friend cousins, Keagan McGraw and Brian Montague.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Raymond Hollar; and an aunt, Dawn Hollar.
A viewing will be held from 3-7 p.m., on Thursday, Nov. 13, 2025, at Stroh Church of Christ, 4540 S. 1100W, Hudson, Indiana.
Funeral services will take place at 11 a.m., on Friday, Nov. 14, 2025, at the church, with Pastor Donna Holcomb officiating.
Burial will follow at Lake Bethel Cemetery, LaGrange, Indiana.
Following the graveside service, a meal and time of fellowship will be held back at the church.
