ANGOLA - Vivian Bright Shire, 91, of Angola, passed away Dec. 31, 2018, at Northern Lakes Nursing Center.
She was born Dec. 26, 1927, in Richmond, Indiana, to Ira and Dena Bright. She married Robert Shire on April 24, 1948, in Hudson, Indiana.
She is survived by her husband, Robert Shire, Angola; a brother, Norman (Sally) Bright of Longmont, Colorado; and five children, Diane (Bill) Baxter of Grand Rapids, Michigan; Janice Shire (Michael Greenberg) of Denver, Colorado; John Shire (Renée Wright) of Fort Wayne, Jeanne (Peter) Van Gieson of Springfield, Illinois; and Mark (Kam) Shire, Kendallville. She had 14 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
She served as treasurer and pianist for many years at the Hudson United Methodist Church. She graduated from Salem Center High School and attended Ball State University. For many years, she enjoyed singing with the Sweet Adelines.
Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 5, 2019, at Weicht Funeral Home, Angola, with Pastor John Boyanowski officiating. Visitation will be from 1-2 p.m. prior to the service on Saturday at the funeral home.
Burial will take place at at a later date in Circle Cemetery, Hudson.
Donations in Vivian's name may be made to the Alzheimer's Association or ACRES Land Trust.
