William Targgart Obituary
KENDALLVILLE - William L. Targgart, age 81, of Kendallville, Indiana, passed away on Tuesday, Jan. 28, 2025, in Kendallville, Indiana.
He was born on June 19, 1943, to Roy and Mildred (Huser) Targgart in Wolf Lake, Indiana.
He married Barbara Trueblood at Brimfield United Methodist Church in Wawaka, Indiana, on July 15, 1972.
William is survived by his wife, Barbara Targgart, of Kendallville; children, William Brian (Elizabeth) Targgart, of Avilla and Amy (Clint) Renkenberger, of Kendallville; two grandchildren, Wyatt Targgart and Paizlee Renkenberger; sisters, Phyllis Myers, of Kendallville, Martha Schrock, of Albion, Kay (Dave) Peterson, of Brownsburg; brothers, James (Sharon) Targgart, of Waterloo and Terry (Mary) Targgart, of Wawaka.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Kenneth Targgart; and sister, Flossie Smith.
William worked for Starcraft for more than 30 years, Dexter Axle for 15 years and B&J Specialties.
He was a member of the Noble and LaGrange County Gas and Steam associations. William loved antiques, especially antique tractors, International tractors and farming. He enjoyed spending time with his family and grandchildren.
A gathering of family and friends will take place on Sunday, Feb. 2, 2025, from 2-6 p.m., at Yeager Funeral Home, 1589 Lincolnway South, Ligonier, IN 46767.
A service will be held in Williams's honor at 11 a.m., on Monday, Feb. 3, 2025, at the funeral home, with one hour of visitation prior to the service.
Pastor Greg Hire will officiate.
Burial will take place at Orange Cemetery in Rome City, Indiana.
Memorial contributions may be directed Brimfield United Methodist Church, 1027 E. Sumit St., Wawaka, IN 46794.
