Robert Joseph "Bob" Jones

Robert "Bob" Joseph Jones, 81, of St. Joseph, Missouri; passed away on Wednesday, October 22nd, 2025. Robert was born on March 1st, 1944 in Evansville, Indiana to Paul and Catherine (White) Jones. On August 22nd, 1964 Robert was united in marriage to Mary Dorothy Giannetta, his wife of 61 years. The couple was wed at St. Patrick Catholic Church in St. Joseph, Missouri. The couple remained in St. Joseph, where they raised their family and they attended Saint Francis Xavier Catholic Church. Robert was an active vocalist, cantoring for the Saint Francis Church for over 50 dedicated years, as well as the Pony Expressmen in Barbershop Chorus for 25 years. Robert was also awarded the "One of 20 who count" and the Clara Barton Award from the American Red Cross. Robert is survived by his wife, Mary, of the home, children, sons, Chris (Sara) Jones of Kansas City, Missouri, Danny Jones of Shawnee, Kansas, and daughter Tracy Jones (Danny McCoy) of St. Joseph, Missouri. Grandchildren: Max, Lucy, Josie, Julia, Connor, and Chloe. And Great-Grandchildren: Lesley and Erica. Additional survivors include brothers: Richard (Trish) Jones of Fresno, California, David (Marilyn) Jones of Charleston, South Carolina, and Philip Jones F.S.C. of Westmont, Illinois, and extended family and friends. Preceding Robert in death, were his parents, sister, Margaret Jones, and brother, Paul D. Jones. Services for Robert will be held on Monday, October 27th, 2025 at Saint Francis Xavier Catholic Church, starting with a Visitation from 10:00-10:45 AM, Rosary at 10:45 AM, and the Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM, interment to follow at Mount Olivet Cemetery, in St. Joseph, Missouri. Memorial donations may be made to the American Red Cross or the Saint Francis Xavier House of Bread.
