Bob Duncan Obituary

Funeral services for Bob Duncan age 76 of Wisner, NE will be held on Thursday, September 4, 2025 at 10:30 a.m. at the St. Paul Lutheran Church in Wisner, NE with Pastor Jared Hartman officiating. Interment with Military Honors will be in the Wisner Cemetery with a luncheon to follow at the Wisner City Auditorium. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Minnick Funeral Home in Wisner and will continue one hour prior to the service at the church. Bob passed away on Friday, August 29, 2025 at Faith Regional Health Services in Norfolk, NE. Robert Eugene Duncan was born December 23, 1948 in Norfolk, NE to Russell and Ruth (Meeske) Duncan. He was baptized on October 2, 1949 at the Pilger Methodist Church and confirmed on October 1, 1970 at the Zion Lutheran Church, rural Wisner, NE. Bob graduated from Pilger High School in 1966. In April of 1968, Bob enlisted in the United States Marines, after basic training he served in Vietnam and was honorably discharged in 1970. On December 12, 1970, he was united in marriage to Carol Eggers at the Zion Lutheran Church, rural Wisner, NE. Bob went into partnership with Lonnie Nilges, operating Bob and Lon's Conoco in Wisner and later with Tim Bak to form Bob and Tim's Conoco until he retired. Bob was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, American Legion Post #85, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #5767, had served on the Wisner Fire Department and Wisner Rescue Squad, served on the Wisner City Council, and was a former Scout Master for Wisner. Bob loved spending time with his family, enjoying time spent at the Wisner Yacht Club, his horses, anything on two- or four-wheels seeking thrills. He enjoyed boating, camping, anything that meant he could be outdoors. Survivors include- Wife-Carol Duncan of Wisner, NE Son-Chad Duncan and wife Tara Denny of Elkhorn, NE and children- Simone Prohaska and Alexander Robert Duncan Son-Clay Duncan of Lincoln, NE and daughter-Paityn Duncan Daughter-Amy Duncan-Menendez and husband Rubick Menendez of Lincoln, NE and family- Alyssa Menendez and daughter Vivian, Zion Duncan, and Sobeyda Elena Menendez Siblings- Roger and Karen Duncan of Pilger, NE Mary Frerichs of Pilger, NE Nancy and Marvin Beutler of Pilger, NE Vern Duncan of Battle Creek, NE Sister-in-law-Gail Ringer of Wisner, NE Brother-in-law-Randy Eggers of Elkhorn, NE Brother-in-law-Gil Janssen of Lincoln, NE Several nieces and nephews also survive him. Bob was preceded in death by his parents-Russell and Ruth Duncan; siblings-Gary Duncan, Darlene Duncan, Dale Duncan, Rosemary Duncan, Dell Rae Duncan, and Jim Duncan; parents-in-law-Eddie and Gerri Eggers; sister-in-law-Judy Janssen; and niece-Dedra Robb.
