Kali Jo Corbit, 52, of Nixa, MO, formerly of Wayne, NE., passed away on July 26, 2025, at her home. Kali was born on July 11, 1973 in Wakefield, NE. to William (Bill) Clarence and Sharon Laroy (Gunnarson) Corbit.
After her mother passed in 2011, Kali and her brother, Heath, moved to Nixa, Missouri, in 2012, to be closer to her sister and family. Easy Living, Inc. provided amazing care for her, in her home.
Kali attended the Wayne special education program and graduated with honors (the honor of knowing her…Lol). She loved to participate in Special Olympics, Night to Shine, Ark of the Ozarks activities and various activities at the Easy Living activity center. Kali attended services at Ridgecrest Church and life group gatherings for people with special needs. Kali loved Jesus, and spending time with family and friends, which always included several hugs. She loved celebrating holidays, but mostly, her birthday, which typically included a cake with several pink roses. She enjoyed several genres of music including Christian, country, and Pop (Michael Jackson and the Beach Boys), were a few of her favorites. She loved to dance (sooo much dancing), karaoke, the movie Frozen, coloring pictures, bubbles, the color pink, and getting a mani and pedi.
Kali is survived by her brother, Timothy (Cindy) Corbit step nieces: Shannon and Caycie; sister, Kecia (Matthew) Roemen, nephews: Luke and Mark; brother, Heath Corbit; aunt, Deanna Gunnarson; cousins: Lance and Christopher Corbit and their families, Robert, Traci, Brent and Brian Gamble and their families, Melanie Poppe, Todd and Brad Gunnarson and their families.
Kali was preceded in death by her parents, William (Bill) and Sharon Corbit; grandparents, Joseph and Marvel Corbit, and Theodore and Ida Gunnarson; uncle, Theodore Gunnarson, uncles and aunts, Larry (Linda) Gamble and James (Eunice) Corbit
