Marcia was born on February 11, 1950, in Sioux City, Iowa, to Gerald and Norma Jean (Beaver) Bromander. She was raised on a farm outside of Sloan and graduated from Westwood High School in 1968. She went on to take classes at the National College of Business in Sioux City while working full-time- a reflection of her dedication and strong work ethic.
Marcia Bromander and Dan Dean were united into marriage April 22, 1972 in Sloan. To This union two daughters were born, Amanda and Abby.
Marcia dedicated her career to the William F. Nutt family, working at Home Federal from 1968 to 1975, and then devoting 34 years to Valley Ventures. After retiring at age 60, she found immense joy in spending more time with her beloved grandchildren, whom she cherished dearly.
Marcia was a woman of deep faith and community spirit. A member of the Community Church of Christ for 45 years, she served as a Sunday School teacher and on the church board. Marcia was also very involved with the Music Boosters at school, spending numerous hours and late nights sewing, mending, and altering costumes for concerts, Madrigal, and Rebelaires. She also contributed her time as the treasurer of the Sloan Golf Course. Marcia was passionate about many things---- reading, crafting, knitting, and spending time outdoors. She never missed a grandchild's event and especially loved mowing the yard, taking great pride in the precision of her straight lines.
She is survived by her loving husband, Dan Dean of
Sloan, Iowa; daughters, Amanda (Joshua) Lander of Onawa, Iowa and Abby (Drew) Buhrow of Norwalk, Iowa; grandchildren, Lexi, JJ, Chase, Evan, Noah, and Sam; sister, Carma Wingert of Sioux City, Iowa; brother, Daniel (Cheraine) Bromander of Sioux City, Iowa; sister-in-law, DeLyn Foreshoe of Sioux City, Iowa; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends, church community, and all who were blessed to know her.
Marcia was preceded in death by her parents, Gerald and Norma Jean Bromander; her parents-in-law, Harold and Evelyn Dean; her siblings, Sheryll Bromander-Cancholla, Sydney Bromander, and David Bromander; and her brother-in-law, David Foreshoe.
