Merle Christensen

Mass of Christian Burial for Merle Christensen age 84 of Norfolk, NE will be held on Monday, June 2, 2025 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Peter's Catholic Church in Stanton, NE. Visitation will be on Monday from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at the church with a luncheon to follow in the parish hall. Minnick Funeral Home in Wisner is assisting with the arrangements. Merle passed away on Thursday, May 22, 2025 at the Stanton Health Center. Merle Randall Christensen was born October 30, 1940 at Pilger, NE to Peter and Flora Mae (Bohac) Christensen. He attended school in Pilger and graduated from Pilger High School in 1958. Merle started driving truck at the age of 14. On June 11, 1960, he was united in marriage to Karen Petersen at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Wisner, NE. They lived near Pilger, where he operated Christensen Trucking, before settling in Norfolk. Merle sold International Trucks, drove for Affiliated Foods, Vulcraft, and the Liberty Centre before retiring. Merle was a member of St. Peter's Catholic Church in Stanton, NE. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and camping. He and Karen enjoyed traveling the country. Survivors include- Wife-Karen Christensen of Norfolk, NE Son-Corey and Kristy Christensen of Omaha, NE and family- Carly Christensen and fiancé Brayden Frerichs Sam Christensen Daughter-Kim and Fred Roskens of Houston, TX and family- Brady and Chelsea Phipps Alex Phipps Sydney Phipps and fiancé Will Biggerstaff Draevin and Mikayla Roskens Son-Jason and Meghan Christensen of Wheaton, IL and family- Colin Christensen Kirby Christensen Dylan Christensen 3 Great Grand babies added before the end of the year Brother-Dale and Jean Christensen of Florence, AZ Sister-Ann Adams of Norfolk, NE Sister-Laura and Loren Pestel of Stanton, NE Merle was preceded in death by his parents-Pete and Flora Christensen.
