Jeffery Parson Obituary

BLAIRSTOWN: Jeffery William Parson, age 39, passed away on Sunday, August 10, 2025 in Iowa City. Private family graveside services with military rites will be held at the Koszta Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the family. Jeffery was born on June 16, 1986 in Iowa City, IA, the son of Lisa (Parson) Schmuecker and stepfather Bill Schmuecker He graduated from Benton Community High School with the class of 1994. He proudly served his Country in the United States Army from 2006 until his discharge in 2010. Jeffery served a tour in Iraq and received numerous medals and citations. He attained the rank of Sergeant (E-5). Jeffery truly loved his family and enjoyed fishing and spending time with his mother. He was very proud of his military service. He is survived by his mother, Lisa (Bill) Schmuecker of Blairstown. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Bill and Pat Parson. He will be missed. He was one of a kind. Very special to me and my kids. I talked to him sat. Was gonna go to the state fair Sunday with us. I told him he had to b in my family picture he said ok. Then he never answered when I was going to get him . I´m sorry for your loss . I know he sure loved his mama .
