David Thomas Clark

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of David (Dave) Thomas Clark, 82, of Spangle, Washington, on August 28, 2025. A loving father, devoted husband, and grandfather. Dave lived a life filled with service, dedication, and love for his family. Born on February 25, 1943, to John Joseph and Pauline Mary Clark in California. Dave grew up alongside his baby sister, Mary Fran. His early years were marked by a strong sense of duty, which led him to serve his country in the Vietnam War as a proud member of the United States Air Force. Upon returning home, Dave embarked on a career in law enforcement, ultimately becoming a police sergeant in Pomona, where he earned the respect of his colleagues and the community. His commitment to justice and his unwavering integrity were hallmarks of his professional life, as he also became a security guard at Sacred Heart Medical Center for almost two decades. Dave's personal life was equally rich. He met Penny, with whom he had two sons, David and Todd. Later, he was blessed to find love again with Brenda Clark, embracing her two children, Ashley and Alex, as his own. Dave's family was his greatest joy, and he cherished every moment spent with them. Dave was preceded in death by his parents, John Joseph and Pauline Mary Clark. He leaves behind his beloved wife, Brenda Clark; his children, David (Colette) and Todd (Stephanie), Chris Rath; his stepchildren, Alex (Kelsey) and Ashley; grandchildren Craig, Josh, Dylan, Remi, and Reece; his sister Mary Fran; and a host of extended family and friends who will miss him dearly. A Memorial service will be held to honor Dave's life and legacy at Spangle Community Church on September 6th at 2 pm. No host reception to follow at The Harvester restaurant. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to a Veterans' charity of your choice. Rest in peace, Dave. You will forever be on our hearts and minds.
