Michael Beeler Obituary
Michael 'Mike' Steven Beeler
September 21, 2025, Michael Steven Beeler, 60, of Spokane, WA, passed away suddenly while doing one of his favorite things: riding his motorcycle. His passing was unexpected and heartbreaking, but he leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, hard work, and fierce devotion to his family.
Born April 17, 1965, in Clarkston, Washington, Mike was the son of Sondra 'Sandy' Kobak and Bradley Beeler. He graduated from high school in 1983, and in December of 1984, while working at Wendy's, he met the love of his life, Renee. By May 20th, 1989, they were married: the beginning of their 36 years of marriage together.
Mike was an iron worker and crane operator for his entire adult life. Proud to be a "Brother of the Hook," a title he bore with a tattoo, he left his mark on Spokane in ways that can be seen every day. Sacred Heart Women's Center, the Spokane Convention Center, and Mead High School are only a few of the structures he helped bring to life.
Mike was also responsible for helping many young people find a career as iron workers, and was a well respected member of his union. Though if you had asked him about his work, he would have told you, without hesitation and with little humility, that he was the best.
Beyond his work, Mike was a man of many passions. He was an avid motorcycle rider, a hunter, fisherman, and trap shooter, and he loved nothing more than cooking breakfast for his family and friends. He had a deep bond with animals, from pet parrots and horses to the wild swans of Riverfront Park, and they seemed to love him just as fiercely in return. In particular, Mike was known for his love of dogs, with Tank being the most recent in a long list of dogs who loved Mike in his life.
For those who knew him, Mike was a man of strong opinions and even stronger love. He bragged about his daughters to anyone who would listen; friends, coworkers, even complete strangers, and he never missed a chance to remind people how proud he was of them. Mike was a husband, father, brother, son, son-in-law, cousin, and uncle; and as fiercely he loved, he was deeply loved in turn.
Mike is survived by his wife, Renee; his daughters Moriah & Sierah. He is also survived by his brother, Scott, as well as his cousins and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Sandy and Brad.
A memorial service will be held at Sunset Chapel (5200 W Wellesley Ave, Spokane, WA) on October 11, 2025 at 11:00 AM and a celebration of Mike's life will follow at the Spokane Rifle Club (6411 N Aubrey L White Pkwy, Spokane, WA). Dress code? Hawaiian shirts and painted black toenails. Mike wouldn't have had it any other way.
