Charles McCauley Obituary

Charles David McCauley, 69, of New Hope, died Thursday, Nov. 5, 2015, at Robley Rex VAMC in Louisville.
He was born June 27, 1946, in Raywick. He was a former employee of Jim Beam Brands in Clermont where he had worked 37 years, a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam era, and an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting, fishing and all forms of wildlife.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles Harry "Kingfish" and Nancy Masterson McCauley; and one sister-in-law, Mary McCauley.
Survivors include his wife of 49 years, Patricia Cecil McCauley; a daughter, Lisa Downs (Joe), of Greenbrier; a son, Alan McCauley, of Lebanon; two grandsons, Cody and Gage Downs; two stepgrandchildren, Ashley and Bella Dobson; three stepgreat- grandchildren, Mason, Madie and Bella Dobson; a sister, Jane Ascencio (Adrian), of Redland, Calif.; and two brothers, Donnie McCauley (Verna), of Raywick and Larry McCauley, of Lebanon.
The funeral will be 1 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 8, at Mattingly Funeral Home, 195 Holy Cross Road in Loretto. The Rev. Deacon Jim Cecil will officiate. Interment will follow in Saint Vincent de Paul Cemetery in New Hope.
Visitation will be 3-8 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 7, with a prayer service at 7 p.m. and 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 8, at Mattingly Funeral Home.
Mattingly Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
