Donna Wright Obituary

Donna Sue Shipp Wright, 74, of Bardstown, passed away peacefully on March 27, 2026, at Baptist Health Louisville.
She was a devoted wife, loving mother and grandmother, and a cherished sister and aunt. Throughout her life Donna was deeply devoted to her family, who were always her greatest joy and proudest accomplishment.
Donna was born in 1951 to the Late Roscoe Shipp and Judell Turner Shipp. She spent part of her childhood in Louisville, where she attended Simple Elementary School. She later moved to Hart County and graduated from Hart Memorial High School, where she was honored as the school's final valedictorian. Donna continued her education at Elizabethtown Community College and later Western Kentucky University, where she earned her bachelor's degree.
Above all else, Donna treasured her family. She took great pride in her daughter, Dr. Tessa (Wright) McCarthy and her husband, Marcus, and found special joy in her grandson, Phineas McCarthy, who held a very special place in her heart.
In addition to her daughter and grandson, Donna is survived by her loving husband, Charles Stephen "Steve" Wright; her sister, Trina Turner and her husband, Steve; her niece, Natalie Turner-Keeley, and her son, Liam Keeley; her nephew, Clay Turner and his wife, Carol, and their children, Gabriel, Jude and Sarah Kate; her nephew, Grant Turner and his wife, Casey, and their children, Wyatt and Isabella. She will be fondly remembered and deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
The funeral will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, April 2, at Dixon-Rogers Funeral Home in Magnolia. Burial will follow in Magnolia Cemetery.
Visitation will be held 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday, April 1, and after 9 a.m. Thursday, April 2, at the funeral home.
Donna's life was a testament to love, strength, and unwavering devotion to her family. Her memory will remain a blessing and live on in the hearts of those she leaves behind.
