CW4 (Ret.) Ernest Alan Emig, 69, of Elizabethtown, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 8, 2021, at Norton Audubon Hospital in Louisville. Mr. Emig was retired from the U.S. Army. Following his service he worked at HRC at Fort Knox where he retired as facility manager. He was a member of the Warrant Officer Association.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Evelyn Emig; one sister, Ruth Ann Prichard.
Survivors include his loving wife of 50 years, Sheila Emig; two children, Cindy (Frank) Lyvers and Daniel (Desiree) Emig; eight grandchildren, Geoffrey (Hannah), Devon (Josh), Connor (Dakota), Dorian, Rylan, Dylan, Drew and Brogan; two brothers, Eugene Emig and Edward Emig Jr.; and several loving nieces, nephews and extended family members.
The funeral will be 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 29, at the chapel of Chism Family Funeral Home in Vine Grove, with Chaplain Homer Wine officiating. Interment with military honors will follow at the Kentucky Veterans Cemetery Central in Radcliff.
Visitation will be 11 a.m.-1:30 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 29, at Chism Family Funeral Home in Vine Grove.
