Dr. John Rawles Sonne DVM76

Dr. John Rawles Sonne DVM, born March 4, 1947, to Dr. John J. and Angela Sonne. A graduate from Bardstown High School 1966, enlisted into the Air Force from 1968-1972, graduated from UK in 1974, graduated from Auburn University with Honors as DVM in 1979. In 1979 he joined Central KY Animal Clinic were he was in business until 1994. He started his own business/clinic in 1994 - 1996. In September of 1997 he joined USDA in Lubbock, Texas, from there he worked for USDA until his retirement in 2009 and he was an air pilot and enjoyed flying his plane.
He married Libby Hite on Sept. 28, 1991, and they were married for 32 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Angela Rowles Sonne and Dr. John J. Sonne; his son, Damon Sonne in Feb. 9, 2009; and his brother, Mike Sonne on Jan. 11, 2023.
He is survived by his wife, Libby Hite Sonne; his daughter, Alicia Harvey; his stepsons, Ken and Dan (Karen) Hicks; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and his brother, Ronnie (Pamela) Sonne.
Cremation was chosen with no services.
