Brooke Elizabeth Russell, 5-month-old daughter of Daniel and Hayli (McGuire) Russell of La Crosse, passed away suddenly on Jan. 18, 2023.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday, January 25th at the Schumacher-Kish Funeral and Cremation Services, 200 West Avenue South, La Crosse with visitation beginning at 10:30 AM.

My heart absolutely breaks for you Dan and Hayli. I remember seeing Brooke in her stroller at Viterbo during an event this past fall. She was so smiley and I couldn't help but smile seeing her.

You do not know me but I am very sorry for your loss. You have a beautiful angel watching over you. I just recently lost my daughter 4 months ago she was 6mo. I want to leave you with these words.
If you can not think about tomorrow, think about today, if you can´t think about today think about the next hour and if that is too hard think about the next breath.
It is not easy and will never be easy but if you ever need to talk to someone that has experienced the same thing please feel free to reach out. No one will truly understand until it has happened to them.

You don't know me but I saw your baby's picture and my heart just broke for you. What a beautiful and precious little girl. I can't imagine the pain and the questions you must have. It's so hard to understand the why. I can only guess the amount of joy and laughter Brooke brought into you life. Altho her time with you was so very short it's those precious memories that are yours for a lifetime.
