Bryan Berg Obituary
August 25, 1962 - February 12, 2025
Bryan "Luddy" J. Berg, 62, of rural Coon Valley, died peacefully Wednesday, February 12, 2025 in his home surrounded by his family. He began his melanoma journey in 2011 but the real fight was in the last month. He was born August 25, 1962 in La Crosse to Kenneth and Yvonne (Sennes) Berg. Bryan was baptized, confirmed and raised in Coon Valley, Wisconsin. He married Linda Jostad on April 9, 1994. Bryan grew up on his family farm and farmed his whole life along with working in construction and excavating. In 1994 he started his business, Berg Excavating.
Bryan was a member of the Sons of the American Legion and St Mary's Parish Men's Club. He enjoyed fishing, trips up north, cutting wood, playing cards and spending time with family and friends.
Survivors include his wife Linda Jostad-Berg; three children, Dalton, McKenzie and Spencer Berg; siblings, Cheryl (Tim) Trussoni of Genoa, Darin Berg and Scott (Sherri) Berg both of Coon Valley. Aunts Joyce (Marv) Temp of Coon Valley, Mary Elsen of La Crosse, and Rachel Berg of Coon Valley; many cousins, nieces, nephews and extended family.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a niece, Lauren Berg, a cousin, Shari Berg; uncles, Jack (Shirley) Berg, Richard Berg and David Elsen.
A private funeral service will be held at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Coon Valley and a celebration of life will be held in April. The Seland Funeral Home and Cremation Service is assisting the family. Condolences may be given at selandsfuneralhome.com.
The family will be making a charitable donation in lieu of sending individual thank you's. Memorials may be given to Gundersen (Emplify) Hospice, Coon Valley American Legion or Melanoma research.
