Dan was a great man in many ways, with many talents. Being a good friend, GREAT dad and granddad, WONDERFUL husband and outstanding taxidermist. I know that myself and Many others will most definitely miss him. I'll miss just stopping by and sharing a beer and conversation with him. We had many many laughs together over the many years that we've known each other. RIP my dear friend!! Save some turkeys, deer and fish for us. Until we meet again, buddy!!

So sorry to hear of this. i served with Dan at the National Guards in the same section . he was my sgt for about 8 years......Ee had a lot of good times at Ft. McCoy and the Onalaska Armory. During our field exercises, i would have nothing but a ittle impoverished pup tent with my Army gear...and 60 feet away Dan would have an awesome setup all decked out that was more befitting of a survival channel. i'm sure i have more stories. What a great guy. Both as a soldier, friend and family guy. I'll miss him.

Life.....so fragile, Loss....so sudden, Heart....so broken,...in the wake of such a loss, we are haunted by things we dont, and may never understand. Yet the solace we seek may not come from answers. So we look for comfort in the belief of love's everlasting connection. May that love lift you and hold you close, and give you peace.

Deepest condolences from my family to yours. I have fond memories of spending time with Dan as a boy. Riding on the motorcycle to Shopko, fishing, and archery in the sand pit; he and those memories will always hold a special place in my mind and heart. The world is a lesser place without him.
