John sang at our Senior Dining in La Crescent several times, entertaining one and all with his stories and songs.......original or made up. Some times I got to sing with him. He also entertained at Nutbush for the Applegrowers who met there every Saturday morning to promote their businesses.

John was a good friend and musical companion thru the years! From the 1960's thru the Thanksgiving Dinners and in the Nursing Home circuit - we always had time to sing a song together. He brightened so many people's days with his ability to remember all the old, good songs of the past. Rest in peace Johnny boy! Love you always, Linda

Dayton and I offer our deepest sympathy to his family. He was the greatest when my father had a brain aneurysm John drove 100 miles to play music for him and sang Home on the Range together. Huge loss of a wonderful man.

I Dearly Loved this Man! Always Fun and Encouraging and Kind. AND MUSIC....He didn't "Play"----He breathed and smiled and exuded music---and extended his Energy and Love to all who were Lucky Enough to be near him. He changed my Life and I will miss him FOREVER! I Love You, John!! Apple Annie 1992
