Dear Sue and Family,

I was off for a few weeks and just yesterday I learned a shocking news. Lois' death is a major loss for all of us and we are deeply saddened. Lois was the kindest and brightest person with a good sense of humor and contagious smile. It was my honor to know Lois and I am very grateful for her true friendship.

Sue, you are very caring daughter who made a big difference in Lois' life. I was always amazed by your thoughtfulness, by your loving care, and by your such strong bond. Lois enjoyed your rides together to the forest and river. Lois was always proud of her the best decorated room, by freshly cut flowers from garden, by delicious home-made food. Lois often said: "I am spoiled! Honestly, I do not know what I would do without this girl!".

A good heart has stopped beating and in this moment of loss, words are useless because they cannot ease the pain of this great loss. In this sorrowful time, I offer my most heartfelt condolences and well-wishes during this dark time in your life. Lois’s wonderful and gentle soul will forever remain in our hearts.

With Warmest Wishes,
Irina, RN at BSJ Care Center

My family has been neighbors and friends of Ma for 30 years. Her upbeat attitude and energy were always on display. She clearly instilled the love of the outdoors into Sue and Larry, who have become part of our hunting community. Lot’s of great memories!! God Bless

Such an amazing lady! I think we met 20+ years ago and even way back then I wondered how that sweet little old lady could possibly hike up and down these steep hills searching for mushrooms. I can still picture her with that walking stick. Year after year out they'd go. The later years I'd see her zoom by. Not something you see every day. An 80+ year old cruisin' around on a 4 wheeler. Big smile and a wave. She made me smile. Pretty sure the mushroom patches are gigantic in Heaven. Until we meet again...

Lois was one of the most incredible people you could ever meet. She was an amazing neighbor, friend, and adopted grandma for our kids. I always enjoyed talking to her because of her humor and rapier wit! Lois was always there when we needed a hand and had wise advice when questions came up. We have missed having her as our neighbor and are saddened by her loss. Wishing the best for all of her friends and family.

We will miss you Lois. There are so many memories from the days at Onalaska Middle School. You were a favorite among the students and never gave up stepping into difficult subbing positions for so many years. In addition I would give Sue a big hug for taking you through those final years. You will be missed.

What a Sweetheart.....loved her the first time we met! We shared many stories of growing up on the farm as well as our love of the outdoors. We grew to love Lois as a second mom....she was always so warm and welcoming. One of the things we enjoyed most about Lois was her unbridled sense of humor. So happy you inherited that trait as well, Sue. Our hearts goes out to Sue (her loving and devoted caretaker for so many years) and all the family as they mourn the loss of this dear lady. We can just picture Lois whipping around heaven on that four-wheeler smiling, laughing, the wind in her face, feeling free.

Lois was a part of our Onalaska Middle School family for many years when I was principal there - working as the preferred substitute of many teachers. We could count on her to not skip a beat in terms of kids and learning when the teachers were absent. Lois was truly valued. Her passing will be a huge loss for many. We will remember with thankfulness and appreciation. Take care Sue.

She loved her family dearly. She and Sue often did a grand outdoor Easter eggs for our kids, spread throughout not just our yard, but our neighborhood! She had a great vegetable garden and inspired me to put in my first vegetable garden in Wisconsin. She will be missed and remembered.
