Marie P. Berra (Miller)

GENOA - LACROSSE - Marie P. Berra (Miller) , Age 90, passed away peacefully at Bethany Riverside Nursing Home on November 18, 2021. She was born July 21, 1931 in Stoddard to Minnie and Arthur Miller. She married Alfred Berra on August 23, 1950, at St. Thomas More. They were life-long members of St. Charles Parish Genoa. Together they took pride in their farm; milking cows, growing and harvesting a variety of crops along with raising and nurturing a large family. Marie especially enjoyed gardening and took pride in growing a variety of flowers. She waitressed for many years at Sylvan Glen in Stoddard. In later years she worked in the laundry at St. Francis Hospital. She had a smile that could brighten a room. She is survived by her husband Alfred of 71 years. Her children: David (Nancy) Berra, Ruskin, FL; Carol Beck, Chippewa Falls; Mary Ann Schaub, La Crosse; Kenneth Berra, La Crosse; Diane Siler, Genoa; Edward (Kristin) Berra, Genoa, Michael (Patti) Berra, La Crosse. She was blessed with 18 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. Also surviving are her brother LaVern (Karen) Miller, sister-in-laws: Hazel Miller, Dee Miller and Pauline Berra. Along with many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her parents, brothers: Arthur Jr. (Boyce), Arnold, Earl, Walter and Robert. Sisters: Alice Switzenberg, Minnie Sisbach, Mable Knobloch, Frances Olesgard, a son-in-law Daniel Schaub, a granddaughter and a grandson. Thank you to the nursing home staff who became her family and for the wonderful care and compassion given to Marie. You are our heroes! Per Marie's wishes there will not be any service.

Coulee Region Cremation Group is assisting the family.

Dave, Carol, Mary Ann, Kenny, Diane, Eddie, Mike and Families....We are so sorry to hear about Marie. Our Heartfelt Sympathy to All of You. It doesn't matter what our parents' or our ages are when they pass away, it is still very hard to lose them. Cherish All of your memories as they will be with you forever!
