Our sincere sympathy to Marie's family. She was, indeed, a very caring person, and so involved with all of her family members' activities. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all!

Kurt, Kim and Cindy so sorry to hear of your mom's passing. I'll always remember the conversations I had with Marie. When we bumped into each other we instantly looked for a place to sit because it was always more than a simple "Hi, how are you?" Her smile and warmth always met me first. She will be missed. God Bless.

I believe the year was 1970 when Clipper's IGA started the first Deli in our area. Marie was in charge of our deli operation and it was her recipe's that helped make this new feature such a success. Her potato salad and cole slaw recipe's were a hit along with her delicious summer salad. Those first years were a real risk and the question was "Would people pay to buy stuff they can easily make themselves at home?" I remember giggling with Marie while we peeled potato's like mad...we were running out of salads everyday even though we had made 100 pounds of potato salad, 25 pounds of cole slaw and 30 pounds of summer salad on a daily basis. The deli was a huge success and we had our hands full keeping up with the demand. Marie was a hard worker, fun to work with and seriously, one of the smartest women I have ever known. She raised a beautiful family, loved and supported her husband, Ken and was very proud of her Children and Grandchildren. She kept me informed of her families many talents when I ran into her from time to time. Such a grand lady...I am blessed to have known her.(I have her recipes memorized!) My heart goes out to Kurt, Cindy and Kim along with the rest of Marie's family. Rest In Peace my Friend...you will be missed. Kay Clipper Boland

Kurt, Cindy, and Kim, I am very sorry for your loss. I used to call Marie “Mom” because she was like a mother to me. I’m sure many of Whitehall’s basketball and football players felt the same way. She was a wonderful woman, and I was fortunate to know her.
