Mark was a wonderful man who I have great memories with. We met at Viterbo and became friends. After class we would play racquetball together and on occasion hit the bar for a drink. I was then blessed to have him and Beth sing at our wedding. James and I always enjoyed listening to him perform through the years. He was always easy to be around with his upbeat personality. He will be greatly missed.

Don't know why I decided to check the La Crosse obituaries today. Since moving to Florida, I don't check it as often as I should. My friendship with Mark began with the Sonic Beats, who was one of our favorite bands. As a member of The Executives for 18 years, Mark & I would run into each other at gigs, or Diggers, or at one of their events and talk music and taxes. I much preferred music - and I think he did too! Mark's previous medical scare was frightening, and his recovery was hailed by every one he knew. My wife, CJ, stayed friends with Mark on Facebook, even though we had left the area, and it was most always great to read his posts. He was one of La Crosse's classic rockers whose passion for music will certainly find reference in the annals of the great musicians to come out of the area. Rest easy now.

Mark will be missed by so many. Playing Bass starting way back in High School. But Mark was also a champion diver on the Winona High Swim Team; Mark was the Big Nine Champion in 1968 and placed 9th in the MN state meet. And everyone knows of his ability with the Bass/Singing. Rest in Peace Mark; you will be missed by us all.

I met Mark at the accountants office, I would see him every year for the last 30 some years. In the last 10 years I would watch him play as much as I could. A Great person that will be missed by all. I will miss his rendition of The House of the Rising Sun!

To the family and friends of Mark,
We remember seeing him play with several local bands, and what treasure that was. You could tell Mark loved making music with others. May you all know you are our thought and prayers.

I remember when I first met Mark. He and Beth were playing in the band Actor. They were the only band that would cover Yes' 90215. And later my wife and I were fortunate to have him play with LB and the U-Turns at our wedding. Rest In Peace Mark.
