Michael was a true friend of ours for a long time. He and Jim shared woodworking tips and stories. He made a beautiful wood cut board out of six different kinds of wood into one piece for our silver anniversary gift. We see the gift to remind of him. Mike and Jim had weekly chats on videophone.
He is missed dearly.

I met Mike many years ago when he showed up at my front door looking for a house with a similar address. I knew enough sigh language to talk to him and get him to the correct house -a friend of mine's house. I've seen him many times since and he always had a smile on his face and always stopped to say hi. I'm sorry to hear of his passing.

I've know Mike for long time as I think I met him thru deaf club and we also spent lots of time with his mom and dad as they enjoyed my kids visited them. I've asked Mike if he be willing to be godfather to my oldest son and he was so happy and he's been good to my son. I've talked to him last summer when he came to my home and we've chatted for awhile. Gonna miss him so much and yes he always says That's life! He's very very friendly guy. To his family, I'm very sorry for your loss of your brother. May God be with you and your family during difficult times. Hugs.

I met Michael through the unit I work in at Mayo and LOVED getting to know him through the interpreter over the last few years.
He was so friendly to all - giving a wave and saying Good Morning to anyone he made eye contact with.

I thoroughly enjoyed him.

His sense of humor, the twinkle in his eye... ahhh... he was such a pleasure to be around!
A few years ago, I took a sign language class, and recently took it again, hoping I could communicate a little better with him.
I learned to sign Hi M I C H A E L and ask him his weight... as well as communicate with a few other natural signs.

I was able to spend time with him last Friday and we had several wonderful exchanges! We laughed about a show he was watching...
I just loved connecting with him.

He will TRULY be missed.
Prayers for the family...and my sympathy.

Mike was always a gentleman and a kind person with a sense of humor. I enjoyed working with him during my interpreting years. He had a favorite saying: "Well, that's life." Hmm, I would say to him, "Well, Mike, that's life -- it's time for you to return home where you came from. Have a happy journey, dear friend." My condolences to his family and loved ones.

I'm so sad to hear of Michaels passing. I remember growing up with my deaf sister Pamela. We would always go to Vernon & Ritas farm. They always hosted a huge deaf picnic which I always looked forward to. I also remember Peggy. May Michael rest in peace.
