Myrtle 'Myrt' Wicklund

LA CRESCENT, Minn. -- Myrtle "Myrt" Wicklund, of La Crescent passed away Friday, Feb. 12, 2021. She was born March 22, 1930, in La Crosse, to Emil and Myrtle (Overgard) Loeffler. She married Norlin Wicklund, June 11, 1960.

Myrt graduated from Central High School, Jan. 29, 1948. She worked for Gateway Transportation from 1948 to 1961, when she started a career as a loving mother and grandmother. Myrt returned to work at Stender Insurance Agency, for many years. She enjoyed bowling and was a life member of the La Crosse Women's 600 Bowling Club. Her greatest passion was following the activities and successes of her grandchildren.

Myrt is survived by her son, Todd and his sons, Sam and Jack of Aurora, Colo.; her daughter, Lisa Hunter of Liberty Lake, Wash., and her family, Melissa (Jake) Schneider of Madison, Wis., Katelyn (Joram) Smith of Shiloh, Ill., and Austin (Samantha) Hunter of Chesterton, Ind.; and great-grandchildren, Aunika and Koen Smith and Emerson Hunter. She is also survived by twin-sister, Marie Loeffler and sister, Mae (Don) Roberts of La Crosse; and nieces, nephews, cousins, and special friends.

Myrt was preceded in death by her husband; her son, Lon; her parents; sister, Sandra; brothers, Robert, LeRoy (Marianne), and Charles (Marian).

Private family entombment will take place in the Chapel of Devotion Mausoleum at Woodlawn Cemetery, La Crosse. Online condolences may be given at www.schumacher-kish.com.

Myrtle will be remembered by me having seen her walking, riding the bus, or with her sister. Most times I'd say they're names, I was often wrong. Made us all smile. My condolences
