Paul Edwin Theisen Sr.
LACROSSE - Paul Edwin Theisen Sr went onto the big Rendezvous in the sky on May 16, 2021. He was born August 1, 1944 in La Crosse to Hazel (Powers) and Frank Theisen. He was the youngest of 7 children. He was baptized and confirmed at St Johns Catholic Church. He attended St Johns Catholic School and Aquinas High School in 1962. He married Judy Wenzel in 1965. They shared 4 children together. They later divorced. He worked for the La Crosse Street Department for 30 years as a heavy equipment operator and drove the street sweepers and snow plows. In 1991 he married Lorraine Russel and gained 4 bonus daughters.
He enjoyed fishing, camping, and hunting. He also was a big history buff and for over 40 years he enjoyed re enactment camping called Rendezvous. He liked to carve wood spirits out of tree bark, and enjoyed playing Yahtzee and doing sudoku puzzles.
He was preceded in death by his parents and 3 of his older siblings. He is survived by his wife Lorraine, and children Carla Theisen of Tamaqua, PA; Paul (Laurie) Theisen Jr, Allentown, PA; Charles Theisen of La Crosse; Katherine (Steven) Blanchard of LaCrosse; Gerilyn (Doug) Brown; Cindy Lemke; Rebecca (Mike) Fabyan; Elizabeth (Jason) O'Kon. Grandchildren Olivia Theisen; Maximus and Remington Blanchard; Cassie Brown; Lindsey (David) Bahr; Apolonia (Jason) Speropolus; Steven Brown; Zachary Trezbiatowski; Emma Lemke; Jacob (Shelly) Zoerb; Mariah Amman; Phoenix; Storm; and Hannah O'Kon. Great grandchildren Julianna, Elaina, Lincoln, Grayson, Wyatt, Saraya, Aubrey, and Luke. He is also survived by his best lifelong friend John (Sue) Bicha who they got into lots of mischief over the years and bonus kids Reggie Bicha and Roxanne Revels. Also his Dennis Gerke and lastly his princess Sophie. He was a gentle giant of a man who was a loving husband, father and grandfather. A good friend. He was honest and kind and the world is a little colder without him here.
A celebration of life will be held on August 1 at Badger/Hickey Park, Palace Street, La Crosse from Noon to 4 p.m.
