It was Thursday morning at the parish social that is one of the special chapters of my story involving Paula and Charles. With this event, I helped Paula out because it was easy to and many Wednesday evenings one would find me in the kitchen baking late, after RE class, because I wanted to help my friend out. She and I spent that 30-some minutes of time, the first Thursday of the month, before daily Mass, going over a substitution made in a dessert bar recipe, trying a new bar or some other recipe out, or sometimes we would be troubleshooting what went wrong with what we had tackled to make; all while she and, sometimes I, would work in laying out the treats that other ladies would drop off. She always made sure everyone’s bars, cookies, breads, special surprises were on those trays. What she, herself, would take out of her carry-all food case, those Thursdays - it was amazing. Those mornings turned into special times that will never be replaced nor ever forgotten. Thank you so much for those "social” moments that truly now becomes a written part of my story. Lu Miller
