CATHY GEARON

Cathy was born in New York State and lived in many different states along the Atlantic Coast. She attended over 20 different schools before graduating high school in 1949. Her father was in the construction business. The family moved often to the next place of employment. Cathy's main career was as a reservations supervisor with British Airways. She was transferred from the New York office to Los Angeles in the mid 1970's. She really enjoyed the free travel priveledges to the far corners of the world while employed by the Queen's Airlines. Cathy was very active in the American Legion after her service in the Air Force during the Korean War, She had a full time position as Adjutant of Los Angeles County Council. She also held many elected positions in the American Legion including 2 terms as Commander of Woodland Hills Post 826 in 1980 and 1995. She was also a district Cammander and State Vice Commander. Cathy is survived by a brother, Patrick Gearon from Fairfield, Iowa and a sister-in-law, Deloris Gearon, from Raleigh, North Carolina and many nieces and nephews. Cathy was a long time member of St. Bernadines Catholic Church in Woodland Hills. Her memorial mass will be at the church on Friday, August 12th at 11:00am.
