Colbert Fountaine Obituary

COLBERT D. FOUNTAINE "BUD" California native born in Los Angeles on August 5, 1919, and resided in Northridge, California. He passed away May 16, 2003. He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Virginia "Ginny" Fountaine; son, Michael Fountaine; daughter, Suzanne Pelczar; son, Gregory Fountaine; daughter, Michelle Hedgecock; son-in-law, Jim Pelczar; grandchildren, Janette (Bryan), Geoffrey, Brian, Douglas, Thomas, Michael, Daniel, Sebrina, Rashelle, Saman tha and Brianna "Peanut"; great grandchildren, Calysta, Colton, Alanna and Tatiana; and brother, Alphonse Fountaine. Bud served in the U.S. Air Force where he received the Purple Heart. He attended college at the University of California, then was employed with the Los Angeles County Sheriffs Department for 34 years, from 1945 to 1979, and retired at the rank of Commander. We love you, miss you and thank you for being such a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. You bro ught strength, joy and laughter to our family and many friends. You will always be our "Hero". We find comfort in knowing you are in the arms of our Heavenly Father. We will dearly miss you. Your Loving Family Memorial Service will be held on Friday, May 23, 2003, 10:00 a.m., at Saint John Baptist De La Salle Catholic Church, 16555 Chatsworth St., Granada Hills, California, 91344.
