Lottie M. May HOOKERTON - Mrs. Lottie Marie Stocks May, 81, passed away Wednesday, Feb. 18, 2009. A graveside service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday at the Snow Hill Cemetery. Mrs. May was born Aug. 1, 1927, the daughter of Clifton Hugh and Lottie Bell Stocks. She lived most of her adult life in the Scuffleton Community of Greene County. Mrs. May was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Alton Edward May; brothers, Raymond Stocks, Vernon Stocks, Alton Stocks and Thurman Stocks; and a sister, Edna Jones. Her surviving family includes her son, Marvin Moore and wife, Rita, of Ayden; sisters, Alberta Garris of Ayden, Hilda Gray of Charleston, S.C., Faye Gray of Kinston and Christine Tripp of Wilmington; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends immediately following the service on Saturday. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the charity of one's choice.
