Julie Spears Obituary

ANN SPEARS Age 49, of Northridge, California, went unexpectedly into the loving arms of our Lord on January 22, 2009. Julie was born July 13, 1959 in Hollywood, California, to Warren and Jewel Steele. She was raised and educated in Simi Valley, California, and graduated from Royal High School. In 10th grade she met Kevin Spears through mutual friends an d they became friends throughout high school. They re-connected in 1980, fell in love, and were married in 1981; they resided in Simi Valley, Moorpark and Northridge, California, where they lived, laughed, loved and played. Julie fulfilled her childhood dream of becoming a State Park Ranger in 1981, which she enjoyed until the birth of her daughter. She never returned to the Parks; motherhood and family became what was important. She resumed working part-time at a dental office 10 years ago, but contin ued to put family first. She was blessed to see her daughter grow into a beautiful woman whom she watched play soccer, run track, go off to college and play lacrosse, graduate from college, become a teacher and recently engaged to a wonderful man, Adam Walker. With the same joy, she saw her son grow into a fine, young man who she watched play basketball, run track and cross country, and begin college where he continues to run cross country and track. She was so proud of both of her children and loved them w ith all her heart. Julie is survived by husband, Kevin; daughter, Kayla; son, Mackenzie; parents, Warren and Jewel Steele; sisters, Sandra Steele and Sharon (Ron) Sabrowsky; father-in-law, Ken Spears; brother-in-law, Chris (Becky) Spears; nieces and nephew, Jessica, Ashley, Rachel, Samantha, Amanda, Courtney, Ryan and Megan; and many aunts, uncles and cousins. She will be missed by all of her friends whom she shared her life and love with, which are too many to be named here. On January 29, 2009, 11:00 a.m., funeral services will be held at St. Paul's First Lutheran Church, 5244 Tujunga Ave., North Hollywood, CA 91601. Memorial will follow at Oakwood Memorial Park located at 22601 Lassen St., Chatsworth, CA 91311. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the American Lung Association or a charity of your choice. Julie, you always showed me how beautiful life can be. I know now you are in a beautiful place because you are there. You will always be in my heart and with me forever. I will lov e you always and forever, Kevin. Dear Spears and Steele families,
I was deeply shocked and saddened to hear about Julie's sudden passing. I have such fond memories of our friendship from junior high through high school, and it was wonderful to see you both at the reunion recently. Julie was always such a bright, vibrant person and so much fun to be with it's impossible to imagine that she's gone. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

Kevin and Family,
I was deeply saddened when I heard of Julie's passing. I never thought I could say that I know the pain your feeling but since Todd's sudden and unexpected passing this past September I do know that it is deep and numbing. I pray that you try to find some comfort in knowing that she is in God's care. It will take awhile, I'm still telling myself that God only takes the best and trying real hard to believe it. Just remember that Julie will live on in every single life that she has touched. For me, I will always remember her kind nature, great smile and her infectious laughter, she was a wonderful person and will be deeply missed. You and your family are in my thoughts and prayers.

To the Spears and Steele families,
I can only imagine what these next few months will be like,(speaking from experience) but I do know that memories of how beautiful Julie was will fill your hearts with joy instead of sorrow. Sandi, it was especially wonderful to see you at Julie's service. We miss you tremendously here at the office and just know that our thoughts and prayers are with you all. My fondest memory of Julie was not only from Royal, but getting to know her at Dr. Beierle's office before she left for Ranger school. You all now have that special guardian angel that will watch over you with that bright smile that was truly Julie's.

May God Bless you at this time,

1/28/2009-Kevin, its one of you’re olden room-mates (Rick Terry). I just received a call from my brother of the news and I’m deeply saddened. As I embrace my thoughts and reach-back in time, I see Julie with that long beautiful (cheek to cheek) smile gazing and resonating at me, helping my emotions be lifted from the floor to the high blue skies.
Oh how God has chosen our sister to go home to heaven and share that special beaming smirk to all. My friend Kevin except my deepest sympathy and may our God Christ Jesus comfort you and your family during this difficult time.

Love & Miss you,

Rick Terry

I am just so sad to hear of Julie's sudden passing. I have known her for about eight years. I have been a patient at her dental office as well as worked for many years in the same building.

She was always a bright smile in the office and around our building.

My wife and I are truly saddened by her tragic and sudden loss.

May she rest in peace.
